Electric Holding Furnace Portable
Silcarb makes mobile Electric Holding Furnaces when used with a silcarb shaft furnace and a silcarb immersion holding furnace forms the most energy-efficient system for any die-casting plant.
Most die casting plants to have a non-heated transfer system which results in a temperature drop during transportation of molten metal from the central melter to the individual holding furnaces.
Gravity and low pressure die casting plants sometimes use non-heated transfer systems which results in temperature drops to the tune of 20-25° C.
This results in high energy costs either in the form of fuel in the melting furnace or in the form of electricity in the holding furnace.
This also results in higher temperatures required in the central melter which results in higher melt losses due to surface oxidation at the melter.
Silcarb made heated molten metal transfer system is a simple plug and play system which maintains the temperature of the molten metal during transport as well as during degassing, resulting in significant energy saving and significant saving in metal oxides.
