Silicon Impregnated Silicon Carbide / Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide (SISIC/RBSIC)
Silcarb has been manufacturing silicon carbide heaters for four decades and every silicon carbide heater has a sisic(rbsic) cold zone. On an average Silcarb has been manufacturing around 50000 heaters an annum for 40 years. Hence the understanding we have on the SISIC and RBSIC Kiln Furniture, Nozzles etc is vast.
Silcarb manufactures its sisic/rbsic kiln furniture and wear parts by the extrusion and slip casting processes. The starting raw materials such as silicon carbide powders, silicon metal and various green and high temperate binders along with rare-earth densifiers are carefully selected and undergo a stringent incoming raw material inspection. These are blended and formed in the best of capital equipment chosen over years of experience in the industry. They are green-backed in double convection ovens to get the required green strength.
We have a number of batch and continuous siliconizing furnaces which has been under operating for more than 10 years, where complete stability of the process has been achieved and complete repeatability of the siliconizing process has been achieved. We make the SISIC/RBSIC products of the thinnest possible sections to work under maximum loads and temperature possible. At low temperatures(up to 1350) our sisic/rbsic beams usually outperform the NBSIC range of products. Standard sizes of beams, plates, burner nozzles etc are available usually off the shelf.
