Technical Ceramics from Silcarb

Aluminium Titnate Technical Ceramics-3

Silcarb is a manufacturer of high-performance Technical Ceramics for industrial applications requiring extreme wear resistance, thermal stability, and corrosion resistance. Our product range includes Sintered Silicon Carbide, Silicon Nitride, Aluminium Titanate, and High Alumina ceramics used in pump seals, aluminium contact systems, wear components, and high-temperature processing equipment.

Engineered through advanced sintering and precision machining processes, these ceramic materials provide high hardness, low thermal expansion, and long service life in demanding operational environments.

Technical Ceramics

Silcarb in the year 2015 put up a brand-new facility for the manufacturing of various Technical Ceramics. Ceramic materials are non-metallic and inorganic. Technical ceramics are made for technical applications. These ceramics have extremely good mechanical, electrical and thermal properties. They have high performance due to their extremely high purity. Different technical ceramics exhibit different electrical, mechanical and thermal properties. They are also combined with nitrides, oxides, and carbides to improve certain properties based on the necessity. The ceramics produced by Silcarb have good product lifespan, improved performance, reduced maintenance costs and increased efficiency. The most commonly used ceramic is silicon carbide. For different requirements, these silicon carbide powders are mixed with oxides, nitrides, and carbides to make ceramics with better properties.

Silcarb has its own product for extensive wet milling, dry milling powder mixing equipment. Silcarb has now installed a brand-new jet mill to produce its own micro and nanoparticles for it’s in house needs. Silcarb has also installed it’s in house spray drying equipment for powder preparation. Some of the technical ceramics produced by Silcarb is used inhouse for lining its different furnaces and to produce heating elements.

Silcarb uses several forming techniques with the top of the line equipment for following: –

  • Cold high-pressure vacuum extrusion (upward of 350 tonnes)
  • Uniaxial vibrating bed pressing
  • Dual axis pressing
  • Low-pressure pug milling
  • Slip casting
  • Pressurized slip casting
  • Cold isostatic pressing of 250mm dia and lengths up to 1200mm at 60000 PSI

Silcarb has a battery of drying ovens, sintering furnaces, nitriding furnaces, and recrystallization furnaces.

We fire our products from 1450 ° C up to 2500 ° C in inert atmospheres and up to 100 bar pressures.

Some of the Technical Ceramics we manufacture are as follows: –
